Volunteer Role: Producer, AI Work Guides

The Ask AI nonprofit is searching for self-motivated individuals to volunteer as Producer, AI Work Guides. The goal is to research and publish free guides that help people in a specific job role or industry navigate the opportunities and disruptions associated with the increased adoption of artificial intelligence. Go at your own pace while growing your professional influence.

About Us

Ask AI is a leading nonprofit that's been helping students, workers, and everyday citizens stay one step ahead of artificial intelligence disruption since 2017.

Our volunteers produce interviews, short videos, free guides, and open research projects.

As an independent organization, we're trusted to present a balanced approach to this incredible technology and to cover topics and perspectives that can be overlooked by marketing content and traditional media.

Research & Publish AI Work Guides

This role offers a simple way to build expertise in how AI is reshaping work across roles and industries.

You will research a chosen field and create a concise guide that curates the best links, courses, and resources available.

Guides can focus on a specific job role or an entire industry. Example topics include:

Each guide helps people understand the opportunities and disruptions AI is creating and how to navigate them. Your contribution supports our mission to make AI knowledge accessible, practical, and responsibly informed.

Minimal Time, Flexible Committment

Each volunteer completes one concise guide at their own pace. You choose the job role, industry, or technology you want to explore, then curate links to the best information, courses, and resources.

No meetings, no fixed schedule, just a lightweight, self-contained project you can finish when time allows.

Content Lifecycle approach

The guiding mantra is “go deep, not wide” and by that we mean we want to treat Ask AI Guides as living resources that improve over time.

Start with clear, well researched text, then enrich over time with additional images, diagrams, videos, case studies, and updates.

Volunteers can also create a simple PDF version for easy sharing. Update the guide as the field evolves and focus on depth and usefulness rather than volume.

Quality is the goal.

Volunteer Benefits

You receive full credit for your published guides, which becomes a visible portfolio piece you can share on LinkedIn, where you can also add the volunteer role in your profile.

AI Work Guides will be promoted through Ask AI channels, giving you meaningful visibility with founders, operators, and AI leaders.

You’ll strengthen your research and synthesis skills, grow content creation skills, build thought leadership in an emerging AI niche, and connect with a small community of volunteers working on similar projects.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Strong research and writing skills, collaborations with AI tools welcome

• Independent and self-motivated

• Familiarity with the use of AI research tools such as NotebookLM or ChatGPT Projects

• Familiarity with tools like Canva a bonus
